Jim Shafer is a musician, studio engineer and music producer. He has been creating original music since the early 90's. Growing up in the San Francisco Bay Area, he became involved with music and theater in high school. During his senior year, Jim got a taste of what it feels like to be a rock star when he landed the lead singing role in the stage adaption of Pink Floyd's The Wall.  The following year he landed another leading role in the staging of The Beatles Sgt. Peppers Lonely Hearts Club Band. While attending college, he fronted the rock band Fear of Fate and was one of the main writers of their original material. The band grew a strong following and became one of the highest scored bands in the history of the BAM Magazines Battle of the Bands competition. This captured the attention of Interscope Records, but unfortunately they could not reach a deal. Fear of Fate dissolved and Jim went on to create soundtracks for several films and work on solo projects.

In addition to Matchbook 20, Jim is one of the main writers and fronts the original rock band Sixth Floor Conspiracy. You can find out more info about the band at www.sixthfloorconspiracy.com

Sixth Floor Conspiracy's music, along with Jims solo work, including the single Miles Away and albums Music From the Edge of  the WorldSongs From the Wizards Studio and Halloween Screams are available everywhere digital music is sold.
